New Delhi: Virat Kohli is all set to make his comeback for Team India against Sri Lanka in the forthcoming ODI series। Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma have already arrived in Sri Lanka and have started his preparations for the One-Day International (ODI) series, which starts in Colombo on Friday, August 2nd.
Kohli will return to India for the first time since the end of the T20 World Cup 2024।
In the final game against South Africa, the famous batter scored a match-winning knock of 76 runs to help the Men in Blue win the T20 World Cup 2024 and end their 11-year-long ICC title drought। After the T20 World Cup, Kohli was given a break and was unlikely to play in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Nevertheless, Rohit and Kohli made themselves available for the series, which will be the first for the pair under Gautam Gambhir as head coach। A video of Kohli getting mocked by a fan chanting "chokli, chokli" has gone viral on social media ahead of the ODI series between India and Sri Lanka.
While a fan filming his video mocks him with chants of "chokli, chokli," Kohli is shown practicing shadow in a room with his teammates। The Team India batter was clearly unhappy with the fan's actions, and he tells him that he is "not here।"
We are unable to verify the authenticity of the video that has become viral on social media.
Someone called Virat Kohli a chokli in front of him in the dressing room of Colombo ground in Sri Lanka, after which Virat got angry.😭😭

After his appointment, many people talked about Kohli's relationship with head coach Gambhir। Nevertheless, the former Indian opener made it clear that there is no animosity between them and that they both have the same goal of advancing Indian cricket। Kohli and Gambhir had a nasty fight last year in the IPL for the unfamiliar.
Nevertheless, the pair will try to ignore their differences and concentrate on winning in the Indian dressing room। Kohli and Rohit will play a key role for India in the Champions Trophy 2025, which will be held in February of the following year.
